Ancient Age
02:02
|
|||
Yellow books and coffee stains
Cracked wood and crooked lines
Telling tales embellished by time
Ghost stories of an ancient age
Scratched records and faded art
Dust settled on an old machine
Nostalgia spins her siren song
Ghost stories of an ancient age
Brick and mortar wasting away
Under church bells no one can play
Casting shadows over blurry graves
Ghost stories of an ancient age

Antique Mall
03:21
|
|||
Laying around the house
Feeling kinda board
So I load up my family
And head to the thrift store
To look for something old
Or something kinda fun
Digging through the toys
Left by someone else's sons
I know of a place
Off highway 69
With lots of rusty tools
And those white bowls that you like
A place where we complain
About the price of Dr. Seus
While drinking stale coffee
In a dead man's curated booth
We're just searching for something to distract us
From our modern life that feels so lifeless
Give me tokens of ancient nostalgia
Human rabbit feets and brass armadillos
Laying around the house
New pictures on the wall
Of someone else's elders
I found at the antique mall
I cleaned the old man's hammer
Sharpened up his saw
But I can't remember
The last time I saw my own grandma

All Ye Who Desire
03:31
|
|||
I killed a man
In the first degree
Got crimson hands
But that don't bother me
Cause I was born into sin
And I will burn with my kin
When meet the Christ
I will see them there
All the men I've killed
Feel their crooked stares
I was born into sin
And I will burn with my kin
We all must pass through the fire
All ye who desire to be saved
Cast your souls on the pyre
All ye righteous slaves
Embrace the man who made you
Come meet the Ancient of Days
When I'm dead and gone
Bones in the grave
You will sing my song
Cause your just the same
You were born into sin
You will burn with your kin

GaslighterLamplighter
07:41
|
|||
I was asleep and I was dreaming
Lying there on garden ground
And you were next to me just wishing
We had someone else around
Woken from sleep by conversation
I saw you talking to a snake
I asked you what was he saying
What made you twist what made you ache?
The look you gave showed me a terror
Was there something he had you take?
And in your hands I found the answer
A golden apple we both ate
And now our eyes were both opened
Our naked forms shining bright
The cosmic bond has now been broken
So we dance in the gaslight
Do you remember what our Father said?
Always test the Spirits singing songs in our heads
And never trust the Devil, the snake skinned rebel
His morning star shining bright
His siren song is nothing but a gaslight
I crashed my plane in the desert
Met a child with golden hair
I was alone until he found me
He asked me if I was scared
Then he told me to draw him a picture
Right there in desert land
Then he said that he missed her
As he dropped the pen into my hand
I said i didn't know how to draw
He said it didn't even matter
Just tell the story of what you saw
And look for what comes after
There was mystery in his face
A face I dare not disobey
As I put the pen to the page
A child's voice cried out to say
Do you remember what our Father said?
Never trust the Spirits singing songs in our heads
And never trust the Devil, the snake skinned rebel
His morning star shining bright
His siren song is nothing but a gaslight
After I finished my drawing
The child was in reverie
Telling stories of his longing
For a place he couldn't be
Like myself he fell from heaven
From a home of make believe
A garden land that's now been hidden
The elephant in the snakes belly
But he told me of a man
On a planet very small
With a lamplight in his hand
He lights the way for us all
By his work our eyes are opened
And all our wrongs can be made right
The cosmic door has been reopened
Follow him to the lamplight

Steady Love (Ps 107)
04:08
|
|||
I have wandered in desert wastes
Finding nowhere to quench my thirst
Until my Lord bent and showed his grace
Delivered me out from the curse
And I was lost and in distress
Crying out to the God above
Crooked steps through a barren waste
Until I found his steady love
Satisfy my longing soul
Fill my heart with good things
Thank you Lord for your steady love
Oh Redeemer you make me sing
And I was caught in the shadow of death
Sinking down with no one to help
Sighs and curses came with each breath
Until my Lord saved me from this hell
I was down in the darkest of depths
Crying out to the God above
Reeled and staggered like a drunken man
Until I found his steady love

Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to him belong
They are weak but he is strong
Yes Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so
Jesus friend of sinners
Jesus he's a friend of mine
Jesus friend of sinners
I can count on him to bring the wine
